About Us
Truth be told, this
website's name is a misnomer. In reality the URL should read
Register-Five-Americans-Who-Are-Eligible-To-Vote-But-Are-Still-Unregistered-To-Vote.com;
however, besides being a mouthful to say,
Register-Five-Americans-Who-Are-Eligible-To-Vote-But-Are-Still-Unregistered-To-Vote.com
exceeds the 63 character limit for website names.
At RegisterFiveDemocrats.com,
you get credit for registering ANY unregistered eligible voter --
regardless of the registrant's political affiliation or leanings. Even
if the person you register is an avowed right wing Rush Limbaugh
devotee, you still count that person towards your recruitment total for
RegisterFiveDemocrats.com. Got that? Good.
However, we all know from
experience that only those people whose ideologies are progressive will
take the time and expend the sweat necessary in getting eligible people
registered to vote. Let's get real for a minute here. How many right
wing Republicans do you see out there combing the streets, encouraging
people to register to vote? Practically none, I gather. The reason for
this is simple. Republicans know full well that most of the unregistered
people out there favor the Democratic Party -- and increasing the total
pool of voters is certainly not in their best interest. Besides (to the
best of my knowledge) the domain name RegisterFiveRepublicans.com has
not yet been registered, and no one (to the best of my knowledge) is
stopping any person who favors the Republican Party from registering it.
The organization
RegisterFiveDemocrats.com, as the name implies, is staunchly and
unabashedly partisan. In fact, our sole purpose for existence at
RegisterFiveDemocrats.com is to help ensure fairly won, landslide
Democratic victories in
the 2008 Presidential Election. I firmly
believe that RegisterFiveDemocrats.com can and will help make such Democratic election victories a reality in 2008.
